New to City TV this fall brings star studded Hollywood heavyweights and legendary producers together to complete their lineup. Our selections for hits this season include, Law & Order: Organized Crime and three new comedies including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in Young Rock, Tiny Fey and Robert Carlock’s Mr. Mayor and the Alaskan adventures of the Tobin family in The Great North.
Young Rock
Produced by Nahnatchka Khan (Fresh Off the Boat) and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson himself, Young Rock is a single-cam comedy focusing on and inspired by the formative years of the global superstar.
He explores his childhood years living amid influential wrestling icons while his dad rose to fame in the business, his rebellious teenage years attending high school in Pennsylvania, and his football years teamed up with powerhouse players at the University of Miami. In his telling, Johnson explains that while his experiences have been larger than life, he very much remains a relatable and down-to-earth guy.
Law & Order: Organized Crime
New criminal drama spin-off Law & Order: Organized Crime by heavyweight producer Dick Wolf. The drama features Christopher Meloni, the former star of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit reprising his beloved role as Elliot Stabler.
Throughout the series, viewers can follow Stabler’s journey to find absolution and rebuild his life while leading a new elite task force that is taking apart the city’s most powerful criminal syndicates one by one.
Mr. Mayor
Tiny Fey and Robert Carlock’s Mr. Mayor stars Ted Danson as a wealthy businessman who runs for mayor of Los Angeles for all the wrong reasons. Once he wins, he has to figure out what he stands for, gain the respect of his staff, and connect with his teenage daughter, all while controlling the coyote population.
The Great North
From creator Loren Bouchard (Bob’s Burgers), The Great North follows the Alaskan adventures of the Tobin family featuring a single dad doing his best to keep his kids close, especially as the artistic dreams of his only daughter lead her away from the family fishing boat and into the glamorous world of the local mall, starring Nick Offerman of “Parks and Recreation” fame, his real-life wife Megan Mullally.
